Storage System for Vaginal & Rectal Probes (CAB-VR)

Storage System for Vaginal & Rectal Probes (CAB-VR)

Dalcross storage cabinets are designed to house, clean and disinfected probes in a safe and secure locked cabinet with HEPA filtered air. Continuous flow of HEPA filtered air help to protect delicate probes from recontamination.

Clinicians must establish their own protocol for the reuse of probes after storage. Our recommendation is that probes are recleaned before use after 24 hours of storage. Some hospitals choose to use an approved disinfecting wipe prior to reuse.

Notes

TOE Ultrasound probes do not have channels like Endoscopes.

Dalcross Ultrasound Cabinets do not meet the standard EN 16442:2015 Controlled environment storage cabinet for processed thermolabile endoscopes.

Standard overview:
This European Standard specifies the performance requirements applying to cabinets designed to store, or store and dry, thermolabile endoscopes following automated or manual processing. The storage cabinets are designed to provide a controlled environment for storage of endoscope(s), with or without channels, and when necessary drying of the endoscope(s), including the endoscope(s) channels. The controlled environment provided by the storage cabinet ensures that during storage there is no deterioration of the microbiological quality of the endoscope. This European Standard specifies storage cabinets which flush the channels and the external surfaces of endoscopes with air. The storage cabinet is one of the means that can allow the safe use of the endoscope for an extended period from the time of processing and improve availability for emergency use.

A complying EN 16442:2015 cabinet has features such as:
• Scanning and recording of Scope/Operator/Drawer to record loading/unloading etc
• Monitoring of door opening
• A scope housed in a compliant cabinet can be used up to 31 days later without reprocessing
